April Adventures

April started with Passover and Alex and Jake heading to North Carolina to visit Dorry, Zayde and Uncle Philip. April is a busy work month for me and it was just hard to get away so Allie and I stayed at home. Jake and Alex had a great time and Jake proved once again what a great traveler he is.

Together with Uncle Phillip, they visited the Raleigh Children's Museum again this trip and it looks amazing!

 I'm sure that there was no shortage of hugs, kisses and cuddles from Dorry, Zayde and Uncle Phillip!

While Alex and Jake were in North Carolina, Allie and I enjoyed a quiet girls-only weekend! Allie even came to work with me on Friday because her school was closed for the day. She was a huge hit and seemed to put everyone in a happy mood. Maybe she can come everyday, well, maybe not.

We had sushi out with our friend Dominique, did some shopping, took a nice long walk through the neighborhood, and had lots and lots of snuggle time.

Since we were missing seeing Dorry and Zeyda we opened up a gift from them, her first doll!

Right before our conference we always have a work day on the Saturday ahead of the conference. This Saturday just happened to fall on Georgia's spring football game so Alex, Jake and Allie headed to the bar to watch with other Dawgs. Is it wrong that I was proud to go pick up my kids from a bar (and restaurant)? It was fun to hang out and we even got a cute family photo out of it!

Allie seems to have gotten over any uncertainty about food. She devours her food and love fruits and vegetables! She also was terribly interested in pizza!

We saw lots of firsts in April. Jake's first time (finally) out on his bike, Allie's first time in a swing and their first bath together!

The worst part about my organization's annual meeting is being away from home for four days but luckily for us Super Daddy had it all covered. I got lots of great pictures while I was gone and they all did great.

When I got home on Saturday all I really wanted to do was take a nap. That wasn't in the cards for me but amazingly it was for Jake! After Jake insisted on playing hide-n-seek (pretty much with himself) he fell asleep in his favorite hiding place under Allie's crib!

With her hair, you had to know this was coming: Pigtails! She's ridiculously cute and I couldn't believe she let me do it! Look at the little chunky monkey!

 She's not quite on the move yet, but we know it's coming soon. Time to re-baby proof the house!

We had a really fun brunch with the Pate Family. Colleen and Brad both went to UGA and their son, Hudson is the same age as Jake and Allie and their daughter, Ella, are just days apart. Here the girls meet for the first time and enjoy lunch out.

Allie's 6-month appointment was a little late but she's perfect none the less. Dr. Rusk even said she should be a baby model! She's almost 17 pounds and 26 inches and she, like her dad and brother, has a huge head! Her favorite part of the appointment was by far playing with the paper on the exam table.

Jake's school had a party for Israel's birthday and he was SO excited that mommy, daddy and Allie were all going to come! There were stations set up representing different Israeli cities or other key places.

The final weekend in April was really fun before Alex headed out to Minneapolis for a work conference. We headed out to visit with our friends Kevin, Ingrid and their three boys in Round Rock for the afternoon. We had a great time hanging out and the three older boys were a great influence on Jake who was way more adventurous in the water then normal.

Allie went in the water for the first time and she seemed to like it. She happily sat with Ingrid and just took it all in.

Sunday, after Alex left on his early flight, we had friends and their moms from the Whale room over for a playdate. A good time was had by all which is pretty good for five 4-year old kiddos.

I can't believe it is going to be May tomorrow but we're ready for another fun month! See you next month!
