Oy this is late... Where did the months go?
We started December off with Alex in Atlanta for the SEC Championship where the Georgia Bulldogs beat Auburn and Alex was there!
So happy he could be there!
With childhood friends from Savannah and their families & friends!
Meanwhile back in Austin we did a little dog-sitting (really just a walk) for Dixie, the Paterson's dog. Despite their ongoing campaign to get a dog, they weren't very excited to go and take Dixie out for a walk. Point for mom and the argument that Alex and I will be the ones to take care of a dog.
Back at it in Basketball!
This is what snow (supposedly) looks like. The kids were excited! Me, not so much the next morning when they canceled school for this!
Part of the frusteration with school being cancelled was that Alex and I had a flight to Vegas that morning and having the kids around was not part of the plan. Thank goodness we had Bubba to the rescue!
Our view from the Palazzo which was really nice!
Great dinners and conversation!
There is a reason that they call George Straight the "King of Country"! What a great show!
After a kid-free weekend, I did double duty for volunteering at school.
First up, Winter Kinder Carnival.
With BFF Emily!
Followed by Culture Fest with Jake and the 4th Grade. Each child did research on, wrote a report on it, made a poster and a paper doll and a dish to represent their culture.
In line for an amazing lunch from foods from different cultures.
Can you find Jake's?
Listening to the program and winning programs!

The paper dolls were really amazing!

Happy Hannukkah!
With gifts from Dorry & Zayde
Ducks lose a bowl game but we still had fun!
With our other UO Becca!
Having fun and being a little blurry at his friend Henry's birthday!
Bubba and I worked so hard to put together one of Jake's hanukkah presents but were unsuccessful. WHY do they make it so hard to put things together!
So happy to have Mimi come to visit!
Facetime with Auntie Rachel and Dillion!
Bubba or ET?
We ventured downtown to go to the Armadillo Bazaar, a choliday craft fair!
Bike riding on a cool but sunny day!
Our Christmas Eve dinner!
And to all a good night...
"It's science fair time..."
words that bring fear to parents everywhere.
Jake chose to test which fruit created more energy, a lemon or an apple!
Check back in January for his answer!

For New Year's we were excited to spend a few days with some of our best friends in the Hill Country for a little getaway!
We started with a family lunch and a walk around in Historic Gruene! Such a cute little town.
What are the odds of finding a Jasmine Pez dispenser in Gruene?!
Then we met up with the Paterson's! And we headed off towards Canyon Lake where we were renting a house for the weekend!
We may have made one little detour...
The wine was good, the owner was odd but the sun was shinning and it was all good!
The sun was shinning the day before but the next day was FREEZING!
We tried to go for a hike and explore around the lake but we only lasted about 15 minutes before we gave in and went for Hot Chocolate!
Sweet boys!
A little Chutes & Ladders!
Some staged, some not.
We barely made it past midnight but a good time had by all!
Wishes for a very happy, healthy and fun 2018!
