Awesome August!

We started August with dinner with Gordon, Melissa & Baby Abigail! The kids love seeing them especially Abigail.

We had a super fun night Friday night with some of our favorite Donkey parents. It was a dinner party put on by a catering company but more than anything is was the company that made it such a great evening.

We also started our anniversary celebrations a little early.

And Saturday night we celebrated at Hudson on the Bay with Mike & Molly Gray. We had our own little pre-dinner celebration anniversary happy hour!

Baby teeth falling out, new teeth coming in. Still 100% adorable!

Alex and Jake headed out for a boys weekend in Atlanta and Athens for a University of Georgia fan appreciation event. They had an amazing time! Their big weekend started with the Atlanta Falcons playing a little pre-season football against the Tennessee Titans and my former Oregon Duck QB and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota!

They were joined by Alex's friend from college, Michelle, and her great family.
Michelle and her daughter Ella joined Jake and Alex in Athens for Fan Appreciation Day at UGA. They're both heading into the 2nd grade and adorable together!

Alex used his connections to get in to see all the players! Jake is going to remember this trip forever! So cool. I was only slightly (totally) jealous!
Ella and Jake met so many awesome players
#59 Jordan Jenkins was a favorite
#1 Sony Michele
#83 Jeb Blazevich
#73 Greg Pyke

#12 Backup QB Bryce Ramsey
#13 Marshall Morgan (another favorite)
#71 John Theus

Kolton Houston signing Jake's ball

Jake and Marshall Morgan talking soccer and Jake giving him some thoughts on the upcoming season.

Jake meeting Nick Chubb! So super cool! He's going to have an awesome year! Go Dawgs!

Jake loved watching college basketball this year and his favorite player is Kenny Gaines. Jake was so excited to meet him! What Jake didn't tell Kenny was that if we ever get a dog he wants to name it Kenny Gaines!

After meeting all the players they toured Athens a bit stopping at some old favorite places.

At the famous arches!

 Ringing the bell!

Sunday morning the boys were lucky to see the Atlanta Aquarium. From what they said, the pictures don't do it justice and it is truly an amazing place!

Meanwhile back in Austin...I didn't want Allie to be sad that she and I weren't heading any where so we talked up "girls weekend" and made lots of plans. Our weekend started with a little shoe shopping and dinner with my best girl.

Saturday night we had our first official sleepover. Penelope and Allie were talking about it all week and they were so excited. They played, watched the Little Mermaid, had a tea party and ice cream and amazingly slept.

After a successful sleepover we did a little grocery shopping with very special treats included!

Next up was a much needed haircut!

Last weeks as a Donkey. I hope her new teachers take photos!

Saying good-bye to Mr. Austin on his last day! He was so sweet and he loved Allie. She had him wrapped around her little finger!

We wanted once last summer fun weekend so we headed down to San Antonio and the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. We went several years ago and it is a great place. We floated the lazy river, Jake and Alex braved the water slides and we just had a blast!

School started on August 24! We're on to 2nd grade and the Giraffe class! And so far (2 weeks down) and we're loving them both!

We've had so much fun getting to know our new neighbors! Ayaka, Nate, Kai (8) and Lana (5) just moved to Austin from Berkeley and they're great. Together with Jake, Allie and another little girl on the street, Ella (5), we have quite the little posse. On Sunday they all played together and I could hear them playing in their yard as I walked home. After waiting for 5 plus years to have kids on our street is was the sweetest sound to hear.

We ended the month with a sweet little photoshoot of the kids! The photographer said it was the easiest shoot that she's ever done and they were just like little models. Love these photos and these kiddos even more!
