Marvelous May!

May started out with a fun weekend of packages, playdates, family time and lemonade!

We came home to a big box from Aunt Judy and in addition to some great books for Jake was Allie's absolutely favorite new chair!

Love my Super Jake! Can't believe how big he's getting. He's the sweetest boy and just look at that smile!

Allie had her first real playdate of her own with BFF Hailey! They are so cute together! When Hailey comes to school in the morning Allie goes running to her and when Allie leaves at the end of the day Hailey stands at the door yelling for Allie. If you ask Allie who her best friend is (and Alex and Jake do all the time) she will very quickly tell you it is Hay-lay.

After the playdate, Allie and I went to meet the boys at Jacob (Riemer's) Jedi Juice Lemonade Day stand which was well-located at Ramsey Park. Jake flew a kite, Allie got chased by daddy and followed Max around and we all had lemonade!

Kindergarten Round-Up was the following Tuesday so Jake and I checked it out. The kids went and checked out the classrooms and got to do arts and crafts while the parents filled out paperwork. Afterwards they gave the kids milk and cookies to which Jake said, kindergarten is going to be great. He also told me as I asked him about the classrooms, mama, they have legos and I think Hill is going to be a great place to go to kindergarten!

Just hanging out with Daddy and the cookie monster while waiting for mommy and Jake to come home!

Mother's Day with the Vivier's may need to be a tradition. This was our second year in a row and I can't think of a better mother to share it with then Brenna! We were also able to celebrate Philip's birthday as well so it was the perfect time for a visit to plano!

Pippi shows Jake how to work his new helicopter

Allie's soccer training begins under Talia and Pippi's guidance.

In what could only be an unplanned moment of hilarity, Allie found Alex's wallet and her godmommy was right there to show her how to use it!

Late night snuggles with Pippi. Jake fell asleep in the perfect spot!

It may have taken him the whole weekend but Pippi finally won Allie over!

Cutest Cousins!

Proof that a good time was had by all!

Allie's up-do from her teacher at school. She'd never sit still long enough for me to do that.

Friday night movie night! Allie last about 15 minutes but she is obsessed with fish so watching "Finding Nemo" kept her interest an extra 5 minutes.

This month Alex and I took our first real vacation (for more than a long weekend) since having children! We were lucky enough to have thoughtful friends, Gordon and Melissa, who were nice enough to plan to have their wedding in Scotland! I'm hoping to have a blog post just about our trip because it was that wonderful but here's a few pictures from our trip.
On the London Eye
Eilean Donan Castle

We ended the trip with Gordon & Melissa's wedding in St. Andrews. It was beautiful! The old church, the kilts, wonderful people, and a handsome groom and beautiful bride...it was lovely!

We were so thankful to Mimi and Bubba for coming and hanging out with Jake and Allie. As you can imagine we had to twist their arms to come and stay with them!

Mimi, Bubba and Jake played hookie from school and went to see "Epic." This was Mimi's first movie with Jake and she loved the little lap sitting, popcorn eating love-bug.

Jake is super into puzzles and Mimi brought him a super cool new puzzle complete with 3D glasses. Looks like Bubba was trying to get in on the action too!

I'm guessing that if you panned out from this picture that Mimi and Bubba may have been asleep next to Allie and that Jake could have been the photographer!

April Adventures!

April was a busy month but with our little ones it was fun as always.

We had a fun night with the Riemer's at their house and the night ended as it should with an impromptu dance party led by Shannan.

They're too much!
Alex was out of town for a night and I couldn't quite muster up the energy for dinner so instead we went to our neighborhood place, Austin Terrier.

Our kind of happy hour!

Cheers!
Why sit in the highchair when you can sit underneath it!
Apparently the 5-year old set is very concerned about who is marrying who. We recently found out that Jake wanted to marry a little girl in his class named Jordan but when Jake says her name is sounds more like Jouuuurrrdan and said with a huge smile. The good news for Jake is that Jordan wants to marry him too!

Every once in a while our mornings even have a few extra moments for random cuteness and playtime.

Miss Allie Potato Head?
We went once again this year to what Jake called "Israel's birthday party" which was nice in theory but chaos in actuality. The kids had fun so that made it worth it.

"Milking" a cow!

Allie meets a pony!

It's better then a great movie or TV show, we love watching random cuteness from Jake and Allie.

A little shopping...

Every April my organization has its annual conference. This year it was held in Houston and was also the 50th Anniversary of the organization. It was a big deal and a lot of work. It also means a lot of work for Alex because I'm gone Wednesday - Saturday afternoon. But no surprise, they did great while I was gone. They were also having much more fun that I was with not only long, long, long days but I was very sick on top of it all.

You can imagine how happy I was to be home. Tired but very happy to come and be with these two little monkeys.
They even managed to keep themselves entertained while I rested up!
Jake has continued to take Karate this spring and just got his orange belt! I missed the parents day but thankfully a friend snapped some pictures of Jake getting his belt.

I don't know why but I continue to buy the school pictures. Allie's hair is kind of crazy and the background and the fruit are silly but look at that smile!

And my boy model Jake looks so gorgeous, how could I resist! And look at his graduation picture, cheesy but so handsome!

May is going to be an exciting month with trips to see the Vivier's and Alex and I off to London and Scotland for Gordon & Melissa's wedding and the adventures of Jake and Allie with Mimi and Bubba! Jake is excited because he thinks there is going to be lots of ice cream involved! Can't wait to report all about it!
