2023 (January - June)

2023 so far...

Even though we had a fun and low-key winter break, we were ready to start the new year!

Especially, starting the year off with the 2-time National Championship Georgia Bulldogs!

I guess we have another year of the flag. 😒

Go Dawgs!

And we can't forget about Kirby! While his namesake, Coach Kirby Smart, was having a very good night. Kirby the dog is just super cute!

Done with football and on to basketball! It was exciting to see Jake play as an Anderson Trojan!

Allie is still swimming and it getting better and better!

And Kirby had a playdate with friend, Winnie!

We love our Kirby!

Allie continued with swimming at Waterloo.

More basketball!

Underwhelmed by another basketball game!

I managed to break my toe around Christmas time. It was pretty strange to pack for a trip and only take the left shoes!

We were so lucky during the 2021 Snowpocolypse AKA Winter Storm Uri and to only have lost power briefly, this time we weren't so lucky.

We hunkered down for a couple of nights with out power and then packed it up to go to a hotel. Thankfully as expected, the power came on as soon as we went to the hotel.

The damage to the trees was heartbreaking.

This isn't shrubs, it's debris from the storm piled up.

I guess Kirby thought it was time to stop working for the day.

Love it when they love each other, even if they seem to be fighting.

Allie was able to spend a weekend at her happy place, CYJ, for Spring Camp.

It's bluebonnet season in Texas.

Spring Break 2023
Atlanta, Hilton Head & Savannah

We started in Atlanta with a visit to the Coca-Cola museum and the Georgia Aquarium (for me & Allie)

Watching her having an underwater VR experience was hysterical. If only there was video!

The next morning we had brunch with these lovely ladies and great friends from Year Course. Thanks to Jewish Geography, Becky, Nanci and Felissa we're also part of the first conversation that Alex and I ever had.

Next we headed to Hilton Head. It was a longer drive than expected but it was well used!

So amazing to walk out from our hotel right to the ocean!

Starting off our time at the beach with a toast!

More beach time!

Vacation perfection!

Only Allie would want to go swimming in a rainstorm!

Next up on our tour, Alex's hometown of Savannah!
The synagogue he grew up at.

Savannah's JCC where Stan worked for many years!

His childhood home and a comparison of how things have changed since we visited in 2008.

Savannah's famous hanging moss and gardens!

Downtown along the river.

This was Alex's families special occasion spot!

We went on an evening ghost tour!

We came home and had our favorite visitors.
Not pictured Noonie & Papa.

Comfy Kirbs?

Sometimes shopping calls for a crepe and champaign!

We went as a family to the Round Rock Express to see a game. The last time we went Jake was probably 5, so it will probably be another 10 years until we go again but always fun to do things together.

Last pic before he let his buddy buzz his hair! I don't think he'll do that again.

To honor my grandmother on the year anniversary of her death, my mom, sister and I went to Chicago to spend the weekend before the unveiling. We honored Great in the city she loved!

Allie was one of (the best one) the Cat in the Hat's in Seussical!

Representing his team!

LAST day of 9th grade and last day of 5th grade and
LAST day of elementary school!

First & Lasts
5th Grade graduation at Hill Elementary!

Our Hill Graduates!

On his way to becoming a licensed driver!

We made a last minute trip to Plano so Kirby could see his cousins, Cabi & Miller. We also came to celebrate Noonie's birthday!

It's about that time...

Alex had been promising a father/daughter trip and he delivered. They went to LA to Universal Studios to see the set where Gilmore Girls was filmed and much more. They also got to spend time with our cousin Josh, Christine & Ingrid. They had the best time!

Meanwhile, back in Austin, Jake and I had a chill weekend with lots of driving, hanging out and a fancy lobster dinner!

Great start to summer, we are ready for camp and Colorado!
